These students completed an in-school audition consisting of a prepared piece, a scale, and a sight-reading example. CJMEA then selected these eight students for the 2025 festival, which will be held on Saturday, April 12th, at Hillsborough High School in Hillsborough, NJ. This festival is open to motivated 4th, 5th, and 6th graders, who are placed into one of four full concert bands and led by some of the best elementary band conductors in Central New Jersey.

The four bands are color-coded as Red, White, Silver, and Blue. Each band has full instrumentation and over one hundred students.

"The Ranney Lower and Middle School band students eagerly anticipate the CJMEA Elementary Honors Festival each year," said All-School Band Director John Propper. "This fantastic opportunity for our 4th, 5th, and 6th graders consistently turns into a fun day full of music and camaraderie among the hundreds of band students from Central New Jersey. We had many interested students, and these were the ones who CJMEA selected to participate. I look forward to hearing these eight band students represent Ranney School at the festival!"
