Ranney Hosts Shore Conference Women in Sports Day

Ranney Athletic Director Natalie Cocchi-Gorman, along with the five other female Shore Conference Athletic Directors, hosted Women in Sports Day at Ranney's campus on Tuesday, February 18. This is the third year the Shore Conference has put together this special event, with the total student-athletes in attendance tripling in size in that time.

This year, all 47 Shore Conference Athletic Directors chose three female student-athletes from their athletic departments  to participate in the program; the three athletes selected from Ranney School were Haley Poser ‘25, Kylie Newton ‘26, and Savanna Stemmerman ‘26.  This year’s event  included a networking session, brunch, five breakout sessions (including a Q&A with former professional tennis star Kim Clijsters), and a keynote address by Angela Teeple of All In Athletes and Val Barnaby owner of ESSA sports training.

In addition to Natalie Cocchi-Gorman, two of Ranney School's own - Lower School Counselor Alison Pugsley, who worked as a Mental Conditioning Coach at  IMG Academy and the University of Louisville Athletic Department,  and Director of Marketing and Communications Sara Zavorek, a former Division I Assistant AD and former Director of Communications at the BIG EAST Conference - ran breakout sessions. Pugsley presented on sports psychology and Zavorek addressed networking.
