Mr. Propper to Present at the NJ Music Educators' Conference
On February 22 and February 24, Mr. John Propper, All-Division Band director and Performing Arts Faculty, will be presenting sessions at the New Jersey Music Educators Conference in New Brunswick, NJ. This conference serves all of the state's music educators, national vendors, featured student and professional performers, and clinics that span the world of music education.
Mr. Propper will be presenting a session Feb. 22 on "Creativity in the Jazz Combo." This session will be aimed to share knowledge about how to get students started playing jazz in a small group setting, begin to improvise, and encouraging them be creative with the music.
On Feb. 24, he has been asked to play guitar in the sesion "What's New For Jazz Ensemble - A New Music Reading Session." The session is a chance for music teachers to hear new music for Jazz Band that has been released by major publishers. It will be played live by the New Jersey Association Jazz Educators Big Band.
Mr. Propper runs a jazz band program at Ranney.
