Hall of Fame: Preet Bharara, Manhattan's Top Federal Prosecutor
As we countdown to the 2014 Homecoming and Fall Festival celebration—just three weeks away—Ranney School is spotlighting its distinguished alumni. Mr. Preetinder “Preet” Bhararagraduated from Ranney in 1986 as the class valedictorian. After Ranney, he attended Harvard College, where he received an A.B. in Government and went on to graduate from Columbia Law School with a J.D. in 1993. Mr. Bharara currently serves as the United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York, a position he has held for five years, earning national acclaim and praise in the media for his leadership. In this role, he oversees the investigation and litigation of all criminal and civil cases brought on behalf of the United States in the New York district, which encompasses New York, Bronx, Westchester, Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, Rockland and Sullivan counties.
He is being honored with Ranney’s new Distinguished Alumni Award on the evening of October 18 as part of the Panther Hall of Fame inductee ceremony and annual alumni reception.
