History Bowl Team Competed in the Southern NJ Regional Tournament

On Saturday, December 9th, Ranney's History Bowl Team competed in its first tournament of this year, the Southern New Jersey Regional Tournament held at Donovan Catholic High School. Congratulations go to the entire team, led by team captains Riya Sikand '24, Zanc Zhao '24, and Justin Atnes '24, for competing admirably against a number of very strong schools from the tri-state area. Special recognition goes to these students who have qualified to compete in the following events at the National Tournament in April, 2024:
  • Varsity History Bowl Team: Riya Sikand '24, Zanc Zhao '24, Justin Atnes '24, Claire O'Leary '25
  • Varsity History Bee: Zanc Zhao '24 (2nd Place), Riya Sikand (3rd Place), Justin Atnes '24 (Finalist), Claire O'Leary '25 (Finalist)
  • JV History Bee: Nolan Webb '27 (Finalist)
  • Varsity US History Bee: Claire O'Leary '25 (1st Place); Riya Sikand '24 (2nd Place); Zanc Zhao '24 (4th Place); Justin Atnes '24 (5th Place); Caitlyn Chu '25 (6th Place)
  • JV US History Bee: Alex Dayel '27 (1st Place)
  • Varsity Political Science Bee: Claire O'Leary '25 (2nd Place); Riya Sikand '24 (3rd Place)
