Student-Athletes Participate in Shore Conference Leadership Seminar
On Wednesday, March 29, 11 Ranney Upper School student-athletes participated in the Shore Conference Leadership Seminar, held for spring sports captains and leaders. The content discussed created a meaningful experience for the student leaders and gave them plenty of motivation heading into the spring season! Students shared their reflections on the event below:
Adele Sobieski '23 The Shore Conference Leadership seminar was a great experience that brought together numerous student-athletes representing many athletic programs. The program provided a valuable opportunity to learn about what it means to be an effective and compassionate leader. The guest speaker, Ray Navarrete, helped me understand what it takes to be a strong leader by sharing some of his own experiences throughout his high school, college, and professional career. One of the things Ray emphasized that resonated with me, was to live in the moment by cherishing and enjoying all of our high school accomplishments. His words were inspiring, meaningful, and honest, and I cannot wait to take what I have learned and apply it to my role as a leader in the Ranney community.
